Abstract

The Project-Based Language Learning (PBLL) approach to the instruction, study and practice of foreign languages and course content requires students to work in small groups to complete an assignment over an extended period of time. To successfully complete the assignment students must apply target language and course content knowledge and skills as well as cognitive and social skills in a holistic, integrated and authentic manner. This paper exemplifies how the wide range of positive learning outcomes already associated with PBLL and documented in foreign language learning literature are elicited at various stages of a mini-research project conducted at Chugoku Junior College.
